Sensory Description:

Delicate aromas of orange blossom, blood orange, rose petal, and fresh strawberry rise gracefully from the glass, accented by faint spice and mineral nuance. The palate is dry and light-bodied, driven by vibrant acidity and a distinctly lifted profile. Crunchy apple, citrus zest, and subtle white pepper notes are framed by saline minerality and fine texture from brief lees contact. Nebbiolo contributes floral elegance and structure, while Barbera and Dolcetto bring freshness and bright fruit expression. The finish is crisp, refreshing, and quietly persistent, emphasizing purity and finesse over weight.

Winemaker’s Background:

Founded formally in 1972 by Aldo Vajra, G.D. Vajra has become one of Piedmont’s most respected family estates, known for wines that unite tradition, precision, and authenticity. Based in the high-altitude village of Vergne in Barolo, the estate was among the earliest organically certified wineries in the region, reflecting Aldo Vajra’s pioneering vision for sustainable viticulture. Today, the winery is led collaboratively by Aldo, Milena, and their children Giuseppe, Francesca, and Isidoro, whose stewardship continues to emphasize transparency, environmental responsibility, and expressive terroir-driven wines.

Serving Suggestions:

Serve chilled at 8 to 10°C in a universal white wine glass. Ideal as an aperitivo or alongside light Mediterranean cuisine, sashimi, grilled sea bream, Niçoise salad, prosciutto, fresh ricotta, or vitello tonnato. Best enjoyed young to preserve its vibrant aromatics and mineral freshness.
