Herencia Mexicana is produced at Destilería La Fortuna, a family-owned operation on The Positos Ranch in the highlands of Jalisco near Arandas, founded in 1865. Originally supplying other brands, the distillery launched Herencia Mexicana in 2003, transitioning to NOM 1580 after ownership changes in 2013. The brand follows traditional Highland tequila-making methods, blending historical ovens and roller-mill extraction with modern stainless steel fermentation and copper-pot distillation.
