Jennifer Maglieri: The Heart (and Hops) Behind Our Beverage Program

If you’ve ever explored our Pick-6 craft beer wall or admired the lush greenery that makes our stores feel more like cozy living rooms than bottle shops, you’ve already felt Jennifer Maglieri’s influence. As Wine Dispensary’s Beverage Director, Jennifer co-leads our buying team and helms our entire beer program — bringing the best of local and international craft brews to shelves across all three of our Colorado locations.

But for Jennifer, beer isn’t just a beverage category — it’s a story of exploration, connection, and community. Her vision behind our Pick-6 program was simple but revolutionary: let customers build their own adventure. With hundreds of single cans and bottles to choose from, beer lovers (and the beer-curious) can mix and match to their hearts’ content — no commitment, no pressure, just pure discovery.

Of course, Jennifer’s creativity doesn’t stop at beer. She’s also our unofficial (and occasionally official) Director of Plants, responsible for curating the living, breathing aesthetic that fills each Wine Dispensary store. She keeps our spaces vibrant, peaceful, and — most importantly — alive, despite the valiant efforts of our employees (and sometimes, our CEO) to forget watering schedules.

At home, Jennifer’s sidekick is Seymour Butts — her beloved, “stompy-pawed” dog who brings the same joyful energy to her days that she brings to the workplace.

From East Granby to Denver — A Journey Rooted in Hospitality

Jennifer grew up in East Granby, Connecticut, originally dreaming of a career in baking. But during her time at Baruch College in New York, she discovered a deeper passion for hospitality and the beverage world — a love that would shape the rest of her career.

She began building beverage programs for restaurants and retailers in Austin, Texas, where her thoughtful approach to curation and service quickly made waves. Upon moving to Denver, she hit her stride, working with some of Colorado’s best beverage destinations — including Mondo Vino, Hazel’s Beverage World, and Proof Wine & Spirits.

Eventually, Jennifer teamed up with her friend and fellow sommelier Jessica Barrand to purchase their own shop — Boulevard Bottle Shop in Lakewood, CO — bringing their shared love of great drinks and better people to life.

By late 2024, the two partners joined forces with Hunter Rudd to form Wine Dispensary Inc., with a shared vision: to disrupt beverage retail through community, creativity, and education.

Today, Jennifer oversees three stores, a dozen talented team members, and one of the most diverse and dynamic beer, wine, and spirits programs in Colorado.

The Takeaway

Jennifer Maglieri doesn’t just buy beverages — she curates experiences. Whether she’s sourcing a new Belgian ale, helping a guest find their next favorite IPA, or coaxing a struggling fern back to life, she leads with care, passion, and a contagious enthusiasm for the craft.

So, next time you’re building your Pick-6 or admiring the greenery in-store, take a moment to appreciate the woman behind it all — the one who keeps our beer list fresh, our plants alive, and our team inspired.
