At Wine Dispensary, we do not believe in pretending delivery is free. It has costs and someone is always paying for it. Historically, over recent memory, that cost has been unfairly extracted from employee wages. Our goal is to make sure delivery is priced honestly, employees are paid fairly, and customers understand exactly what their fees support.
We are building a community-oriented business model that reinvests our profits in our people and our communities. We invest our earnings on things like the convenience of delivery into our people, our stores, our customers, and our communities before prioritizing owner or investor profit.
We do not expect every part of the business to be immediately profitable to owners when it has a clear profit to our communities. We believe long-term success starts with fair employment, responsible operations, and transparent pricing.
What Delivery Fees Help Support
Every delivery requires trained staff, employee time, vehicle use, fuel, insurance, compliance with Colorado alcohol laws, and age verification at the point of delivery. These are real costs, and we believe it is more honest to show them clearly than to hide them inside product pricing.
When you pay a delivery fee, you are helping support a local employee, a sustainable store operation, and a business model designed to pay increasingly livable wages over time.
Current Delivery Zones and Pricing
The pricing below reflects our current delivery methodology, including distance from the store, labor time, transportation cost, order size, and our commitment to fair compensation.
| Delivery Zone | Order Minimum | Delivery Fee | Free Delivery Threshold |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0–2 miles | $35 | $10 | Free over $100 |
| 2–5 miles | $50 | $20 | Free over $200 |
| 5–20 miles | $100 | $50 | Not currently waived automatically |
| 20–50 miles | $500 | $60 | Free over $2,000 |
| 50+ miles | $2,000 | Starts at $150 | Quoted based on distance and order requirements |
Why Distance Matters
A delivery a few blocks away and a delivery across the metro area require very different amounts of employee time and vehicle use. As distance increases, the same employee spends more time away from the store and less time helping customers, receiving inventory, building orders, or supporting the team.
Our distance-based pricing helps us balance customer convenience with the true cost of service. Larger orders also allow us to spread delivery costs across more products, which is why some zones include free delivery above certain purchase thresholds.
Why We Do Not Hide the Cost
Many businesses advertise free delivery while shifting the cost somewhere else: into product prices, employee wages, vendor pressure, or investor losses designed to gain market share. That is not how we want to operate.
Our prices and fees reflect our values. We would rather be transparent with customers than create the illusion that responsible delivery has no cost.
Our Reinvestment Commitment
As Wine Dispensary grows, our first priority is reinvestment. That means putting earnings back into:
- better wages and opportunities for our staff;
- training, education, and professional development;
- better stores, systems, and customer experiences;
- stronger inventory and product selection;
- local events, partnerships, and community support.
We believe a better business is one where employees, customers, and communities benefit before ownership focuses on extracting profit.
A Neighborly Courtesy
Because we are a community-oriented business, we also believe in taking care of our neighbors.
Residents who personally know and live near one of our owners may be eligible for complimentary evening delivery using a special neighborhood code provided directly by that owner. This is not a public promotion, and it is not available through general advertising or customer service requests. It is simply a small courtesy for people who share an immediate neighborhood relationship with our ownership team.
Pricing Updates and Checkout Accuracy
We review our delivery thresholds periodically to make sure they continue to reflect wage commitments, fuel costs, insurance, compliance requirements, and the true cost of responsible delivery.
While we make every effort to keep this page current, occasional delays in updating website content may occur. The pricing displayed during checkout is always the most current and controlling version of our delivery policy.
